Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Azure Engineer to join our dynamic team. As the Lead Azure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure. You will lead a team of onshore and offshore Azure Engineers, ensuring the successful execution of cloud infrastructure projects while leveraging best practices to optimize performance, security, and scalability.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, highly available, and secure cloud solutions using Azure services (such as Compute, Storage, Networking, and Security)
- Mentor a team of Azure Engineers, providing guidance, technical expertise, and fostering a collaborative work environment
- Develop and deploy automated cloud solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or Azure Bicep
- Ensure best practices for cloud security, identity and access management (IAM), data protection, and compliance are followed across all Azure environments
- Monitor and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring cost-efficiency, scalability, and reliability of systems and services
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Software Development, Network Engineering, etc.) to ensure smooth deployment and operation of cloud-based applications and services
- Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide on-call support when needed
- Stay updated on the latest Azure features, best practices, and industry trends to continuously improve our cloud architecture and engineering processes
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering with 3+ years in an Azure-focused role
- Strong knowledge of Azure services, including Compute, Networking, Storage, Identity and Security, and DevOps
- Experience leading teams of technical professionals
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, ARM Templates, Azure Bicep)
- Strong experience with cloud security and compliance frameworks (e.g., Azure Security Center, Azure Active Directory)
- Proficiency in automation and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert certification
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integration of on-premise infrastructure with Azure
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service)
- Knowledge of serverless computing models in Azure (e.g., Azure Functions, Logic Apps)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools in Azure (e.g., Azure Monitor, Application Insights)
