POSITION SUMMARY
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for coordinating and managing the process assigned to implement, configure, and maintain cloud-based services and Software as a Service (SaaS) applications for employees. This requires extensive knowledge of cloud platforms, SaaS applications, security protocols, and integration methodologies. It also includes communicating technical information in a clear understandable language to non-technical users, using knowledge derived from on-the-job experience to analyze and recommend solutions to problem situations.

- Full-time exempt position with benefits
- Remuneration Range: 83-104% ($81k - $97k annually)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Organizes, manages and supervises assigned technical resources and cloud-related projects, including the Office 365 environment.
- Oversees the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of SaaS applications.
- Serves as a Tier 2 Support Specialist - providing cloud application support and training to GC employees, assisting them with a variety of cloud service and SaaS application issues (in person and/or remotely), resolving complex issues by working with in-house employees, consultants, vendors and/or cloud service providers.
- Implements, configures and supports cloud-based software including productivity suites, collaboration tools, email services, and other supported SaaS applications.
- Ensures cloud application license management and data backup systems are working properly and coordinates upgrades/updates as needed.
- Supports user provisioning, authentication, and authorization protocols for cloud services.
- Diagnoses cloud service, software integration, and user access problems, and takes remedial action or recommends procedural changes.
- Collaborates with network administrators and security teams to ensure efficient and secure operation of the company's cloud computing environment.
- Assists in the support and management of license inventory tracking for SaaS applications and cloud services for capital expenditure planning.
- Ensures cloud technology use is conducted in a way that meets the GC’s Digital Strategy, Enterprise Technology Strategy, as well as industry best practice regarding security, compliance, and data protection.
- Tests new SaaS applications, evaluates cloud service providers, and assists others in quality assurance testing.
- Supports and keeps updated an inventory of all purchase requests for cloud and SaaS-related needs for General Conference Departments for approval.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Must be a member in regular standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
- Must maintain a regular and reliable work schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree in Computers, Mathematics, Engineering or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Relevant successful work experience may be acceptable in lieu of academic requirement.
- Five or more years of experience in senior level computer responsibilities, are required in order to demonstrate level of expertise necessary to perform the job requirements.
- Must have proven customer service and cloud engineering experience.
- Ongoing training to keep up to date with technology changes required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of principles, policies and beliefs of the General Conference and the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Knowledge of church structure and organization, including committee procedures, etc.
- Must maintain current knowledge of technology & employer’s computer environment.
- Requires good organizational skills in evaluating process and making needed changes.
- Strong people skills in providing advocacy for functions performed and to maintain high levels of communications with subordinates, users, and superiors.
- Ability to assist employees in a professional manner in analyzing and solving a variety of computer related issues in a fast-paced highly technical environment.
- Must be friendly, courteous, have good communication skills, and be self-motivated with ability to complete tasks with little supervision.
- Ability to perform administrative functions; develop long and short-term plans and programs to effectively evaluate work accomplishments; establish and maintain effective relationships with internal/external personnel.
- Must possess advanced ability to effectively present facts and recommendations in English in oral and written form.
