AWS DevOps Engineer

Overview

As an AWS DevOps Engineer, you will provide subject matter expertise for managing and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, enabling the automation of development workflows, and ensuring compliance with AWS best practices.

This job description is for a proposal contract for future work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with development teams to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
• Ensure infrastructure as code using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Optimize the development workflow and improve deployment frequency and reliability.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred but not mandatory for this position).

Experience:

• 10 years of IT systems administrative experience with both Microsoft and Linux platforms.
• Experience developing code in at least one high-level programming language.
• Proven ability to build highly automated infrastructures and administer operating systems.
• Proficiency in modern development and operations processes and methodologies.
• Experience implementing and managing continuous delivery systems and methodologies on AWS.
• Ability to implement and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation.
• Expertise in defining and deploying monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS.

Certifications:

• IAT Level II certification required.
• Desired: AWS DevOps Engineer Professional Certification.
• Must have one of the following certifications or equivalent experience:
  1. AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification or training.
  2. AWS SysOps Administrator Certification or training.
  3. AWS DevOps Engineer Certification or training.

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in AWS tools such as Kubernetes, EKS, Diode, and Lambda.
• Expertise in optimizing cloud-based architectures for reliability and scalability.
