About the Role
The Equity Trading Technology organization is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Team in our NYC or Miami offices. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing systems to enhance the reliability, scalability, and observability of trading applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong development background, hands-on experience in distributed systems, and an eagerness to solve complex problems.
Role and Responsibilities
Platform Engineering:
Design and build a data platform leveraging auxiliary data points to evaluate trading applications within Equity Trading on the established standards.
Incorporate modern technologies and practices, including LLM-based approaches, to enhance the functionality of the data platform.
Automate Processes and Reduce Toil:
Collaborate with developers across the group to identify recurring issues and inefficiencies.
Create automated solutions through systems and processes to improve productivity and reduce operational toil.
Stay current with industry trends
Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging trends, technologies and best practices within SDLC and SRE related fields.
Identify and introduce the most relevant changes to improve development process, tools and methodologies.
Qualifications and Skills
5+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on Python or Java.
Proven experience in the design and development of distributed systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
Nice to Have:
Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD platforms.
Exposure to building data platforms or integrating LLMs (Large Language Models) into systems.
Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud infrastructure.
Understanding of equity trading or financial systems is a plus but not required.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000Β to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individualβs experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
