Senior Site Reliability Engineer
Job Description Summary
Carries out technical planning, architecture oversight, and promotion of required support requirements across multiple IT teams, external strategic vendors, and a broad group of user stakeholder groups
Manage requirements for platform growth and maintenance
Partner with multiple development areas to advance modernization and cloud transformation efforts
Experience with influencing technical direction across multiple, large-scale implementations
Encourage continuous process improvement and develop a team dedicated to 24-hour support and upkeep for on-prem and cloud products
Evaluates the integration and interoperability of platforms and service to guarantee a unified architecture across dependent areas.
Advises partners advice on important issues so they may establish functional strategies (typically segment-specific).
Independent judgment requiring the analysis of variable factors and choosing the best course of action. Judgment is exercised on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks.
Justification
Current Senior Site Reliability Engineer is moving teams, and this is a necessary replacement to ensure proper coverage for Workday and Financial systems we support. This was approved by ITLOC.
Job Description
Maintain System environments/instances for effective monitoring, logging, and analysis
Support proactive system monitoring and incident response
Collaborate with SRE, development and business teams to understand requirements and provide solutions for performance and reliability issues
Collaborate effectively across multiple IT teams, external strategic vendors, and a broad group of user stakeholders
Drive Operational excellence for all new functionality, applications, projects, and changes impacting business operations
Partner with multiple development areas to advance modernization and cloud transformation as well as reduce technical debt
Implement automation, performance improvement and application modernization.
Perform data analysis and visualization to identify trends, potential issues, and areas of improvement
Troubleshoot and resolve app/system related issues, including performance tuning and integration challenges
Develop and maintain documentation for Workday configurations, processes, and best practices
Participate in On-Call rotations and provide support during critical incidents to ensure system reliability
Stay updated with the latest Technology features and industry best practices, and recommend improvements
Utilize diagnostic tools to monitor system performance , identify bottlenecks, and optimize application and infrastructure performance
Establish and enforce best practices
