About the role and the workplace
As a Senior Platform Engineer for our Core Banking team, you are responsible for managing and optimizing our technology platforms, ensuring operational efficiency, and providing end user support. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will integrate systems, analyze complex data sets, implement effective solutions, and drive continuous improvements to enhance overall functionality and user experience. This role supports the alignment of technology initiatives with business objectives and delivering outcomes.
This role will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office or Ontario home based office. Vancouver-based employees may be expected to come into office at least once per week.
A typical day would involve:
- Analyze and interpret data from various sources to inform business decisions and strategy.
- Provide expert guidance on optimal solution design, ensuring adherence to industry best practices while maintaining the reliability and integrity of the core banking system.
- Own the technical solution and lead the end-to-end implementation of platform solutions, including setting Nonfunctional requirements, technical solution design, system configuration, testing, to ensure successful deployment and alignment with business objectives.
- Production support for platform systems, proactively monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing timely resolutions to ensure continuous operational excellence and minimal downtime.
- Monitor platform performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- with different teams in ITS and other departments to ensure seamless integration of platforms and tools.
- Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate closely with external vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions, holding them accountable for meeting requirements and timelines while facilitating clear communication throughout the development process.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of implemented solutions, platform processes, procedures, and configurations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to platform usage and data security.
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years in a technical role, specifically within a Canadian banking or credit union environment
- Understanding of Canadian banking and/or payments ecosystem including the partner landscape.
- Expert knowledge of the Temenos product portfolio (T24/Transact R13 or higher) particularly in AA products and CAMB modules, including interfaces such as card management, clearings, and bill payments , tax reporting.
- Knowledge of end-of-day T24/Transact COB support and services management.
- Strong software development background with experience in Temenos L3 coding (Infobasic), build & deployment support as well as scripting tools for automated operational deployment.
- Solid experience in multi-server environments and application/web server management like jBoss.
- Robust hands-on knowledge of the Temenos IRIS Framework, including API development, deployment, and publishing.
- Experience with Transact SaaS model on Azure.
- Familiarity with the Integration Framework (IF) for events and flows, setup, and data event streaming.
- Strong analytical skills for day-to-day troubleshooting of both functional and non-functional issues, using diagnostic tools, debugging code, analyzing logs and messages.
- Experience with using logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk and Grafana is a plus.
- Experience with Platform Framework, including TAFC and TAFJ setup, troubleshooting, log analysis, and code flow navigation.
- Understanding of DevOps principles, including tools such as Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, GIT.
- Understanding of RDBMS and good Knowledge of MSSQL
- Experience with both agile and waterfall delivery models.
- Willingness to work in a highly flexible environment with multiple competing priorities.

The salary range for this role is $81,200 to $122,000 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
