I am looking for a seasoned DevOps Engineer with expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform to join a German start-up that works on modernizing and digitalizing automotive manufacturing. The company creates an engineering intelligence platform that helps develop, produce and maintain highly complex mechatronic products, such as passenger cars or aircraft, more efficiently and sustainably.
This is a remote role, but you have to be located in one of the following countries: Germany, Spain, Portugal, or Bulgaria.
In this role, you will be a part of a highly skilled DevOps team that works cross-functionally with Engineering, Value Management, and Application Management teams. The balance between customer-facing responsibilities and internal infrastructure improvements makes this a dynamic and impactful position. Your contributions will support smooth and efficient software operations and empower the company's clients to achieve greater efficiency and sustainability in their processes.
In particular, you will:
- Deploy and set up new development tools and infrastructure for customer environments;
- Work closely with customers to understand and address their unique technical setups, ensuring smooth deployments;
- Collaborate with internal teams to automate and enhance development and release processes for both internal and external environments;
- Test and review code, providing insights and feedback to optimize performance and resolve issues;
- Troubleshoot technical problems, develop software updates, and implement fixes;
- Contribute to project planning, providing insights into the technical aspects of deployments and infrastructure;
- Establish and maintain monitoring and reporting processes to ensure smooth operation in both customer and in-house environments;
- Foster a robust DevOps culture, promoting best practices and collaboration across the organization.
You have:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a DevOps engineer or similar role;
- Customer-facing experience, particularly in deploying software to cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP;
- Expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform, with experience in managing hybrid and multi-cloud setups;
- Proficient in programming and scripting languages like Python and Bash;
- Solid experience with distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting systems;
- Strong understanding of database management (SQL/NoSQL), backups, restores, and migrations;
- Deep knowledge of Linux systems, networking, security, and version control;
- Ability to work autonomously in fast-paced, evolving environments, with an entrepreneurial and self-driven mindset;
- Excellent spoken and written English skills.
