About Machina Labs:

Engineering moves at software speed. Manufacturing doesn't. Yet.

Machina Labs is changing that. We build intelligent, software-defined factories that produce complex metal structures directly from digital design. By integrating advanced metal forming, robotics, and automated production inside a flexible factory architecture, we enable customers to move from prototype to production in weeks, not years.

Backed by Lockheed Martin, Toyota, and NVIDIA, we're building the manufacturing infrastructure that defense, aerospace, and advanced mobility programs will run on.

If you want to work on hard problems that matter and see them fly, drive, and defend, this is the place.

Job Description:

Machina Labs is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing software engineering team and help build the infrastructure that powers our advanced robotics manufacturing platform.

In this role, you will design, scale, and own the cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment systems that support our robotics software platform. You will play a key role in defining how we deploy, secure, monitor, and manage systems across multiple environments, enabling reliable and scalable operations for our robotics and manufacturing systems.

This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead infrastructure strategy, streamline development workflows, and partner closely with software engineers to deliver highly reliable systems. You will be hands-on from day one and help shape the DevOps function as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, testing, and deployment workflows.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Manage and maintain Linux-based systems and services across development and production environments.
  • Support containerized deployments using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Manage secrets, certificates, and authentication across services and environments.
  • Implement system observability including logging, monitoring, alerting, and tracing.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues and help define operational best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment speed, reliability, and system performance.

Required Background & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or cloud infrastructure roles.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Deep experience working with Linux-based environments.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
  • Experience deploying and managing containerized applications (Docker and/or Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Python and/or JavaScript to support automation, tooling, or platform integration.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to manage complex cloud infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting infrastructure for robotics, hardware, or real-time systems.
  • Familiarity with Azure Government or regulated cloud environments.
  • Experience with HashiCorp tooling such as Vault or Consul.
  • Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure performance and cost.
$155,000 - $185,000 a year
Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
