Location: US East Coast (Remote)

Line Manager: Sr. Manager, Public Cloud 

Contract Terms: Permanent, full-time/40h per week 

 

THE TEAM 

Ticketmaster’s Public Cloud team is responsible for managing Ticketmaster’s global AWS cloud platform, supporting thousands of developers and critical services. 

We manage and scale AWS infrastructure, provide operational support and monitoring, implement governance controls, and develop best practices using Infrastructure as Code and modern delivery workflows. Our mission is to build reliable, scalable, and secure cloud services that can be easily consumed by engineering teams through the development of APIs and self-service platforms. 

Automation is central to how we operate, with a continued focus on simplicity, developer experience, and platform efficiency We embrace AI tools such as Claude Code to increase our engineering velocity and systems availability. 

THE JOB 

Ticketmaster is seeking a Sr. Cloud Engineer to help manage, maintain, and evolve our public cloud capabilities. 

You will support the operations, reliability, security, scalability, and optimization of our global AWS platform, which underpins critical business applications This role includes designing and implementing automation, improving platform capabilities, and influencing how teams consume cloud services. You will apply your AWS expertise to enhance governance, scalability, and operational excellence, while leveraging AI assisted coding tools to improve development speed and platform automation to reduce manual toil. 

You will collaborate with development and peer engineering teams to design scalable, supportable, service-oriented architectures, and work closely with Technical Operations, Architecture, Product teams, and AWS. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING 

 

  • Enhance and modernize the AWS platform to meet evolving Ticketmaster requirements 

  • Provide operational support for the global cloud platform, including partnering with development teams 

  • Design scalable, automated solutions for AWS account management in a multi-account environment 

  • Leverage AI development tools such as Claude Code to accelerate engineering workflows, automation, and troubleshooting 

  • Establish and improve governance capabilities including security automation, IAM, and access management 

  • Maintain and enhance Infrastructure as Code capabilities, primarily using Terraform 

  • Develop and operate GitOps-based workflows for infrastructure and platform delivery 

  • Assess application and service requirements and provide architecture recommendations 

  • Collaborate with Security, Network Engineering, and FinOps to improve cloud best practices 

  • Implement security and governance controls to support PCI compliance and ongoing audits 

  • Promote knowledge sharing across development teams on cloud capabilities and best practices 

  • Contribute to agile team practices 

  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate on design and solutions 

  • Respond to and resolve incidents, and implement improvements to prevent recurrence 

  • Support technology strategy and platform alignment across teams 

  • Build proofs of concept in collaboration with platform and product teams 

  • Develop automation and tooling using Go, Python, or Shell 

  • Manage code, automation, and pipelines using GitLab and CI/CD workflows 

  • Participate in on-call rotation and after hours support as needed 

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS) 

  • Advanced knowledge in best practices and standards for AWS, specifically AWS related to infrastructure, operations, IaC, networking, multi account management, IAM, Governance, security, and cost optimization 

  • Familiarity with the AWS Well Architected Framework 

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, primarily Terraform 

  • Experience with CI/CD and GitOps workflows 

  • Experience using AI coding development tools such as Claude Code or similar in engineering workflows 

  • Experience with Linux, containers, and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes or EKS 

  • Working knowledge of cloud native and open-source technologies 

  • Understanding of security best practices and risk assessment 

  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team

The expected compensation for this position is:

$140,000.00 USD - $175,000.00 USD
