This critical role in Digital Technology is an exciting opportunity to join our growing DevOps and Classified Engineering Solutions organization as a DevOps Engineer. The primary responsibility for this position is to design, implement and support DevOps solutions for our key programs. You will develop, refine, and shape the future technology infrastructure that will allow our Engineers to bring innovative solutions to our customer with greater speed and efficiency! 

This position is an onsite role based in Marlborough Massachusetts.

What You Will Do

  • Leverage company best practices and capabilities to assist programs with deployment, implementation, modernization and support of DevSecOps software solutions.
  • Support software tool customization and automation including development of templates, dashboards and scripts to support program needs.
  • Assist engineering teams with development and support of software build/test pipeline automation and integration, optimizing for performance and scalability across both cloud and on-premises computing environments.
  • Maximize solution performance and reliability through proactive, automated testing and issue mitigation while minimizing impacts associated with ongoing system patching and upgrades.
  • Ensure system reliability and continuity by developing and validating fault tolerance and disaster recovery plans for tool infrastructure.
  • Administer and maintain the security and compliance of tooling solutions including hardening, patching and version upgrades
  • Provide documentation of implemented DevOps environments by authoring procedures, work instructions and program profile documents

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
  • System administration experience in Linux based systems
  • Experience installing and supporting server-based DevOps tools such as Jira, Git, BitBucket, GitLab, Confluence, Coverity, Jenkins, IBM Rational products, and Microsoft Azure DevOps Server
  • Experience working development teams using Agile concepts and methodologies
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active and current Secret Clearance
  • Experience with legacy source code tools like ClearCase, Synergy, SVN
  • Experience/familiarity with systems and software engineering tools such as MATLAB, Visual Studio, VxWorks/Windriver, QT, BigLever Gears, Python, and DOORS
  • Experience with container technology (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Tanzu)
  • Experience and familiarity with relational databases and ability to support/troubleshoot data backup, verification and validation activities for server-based tools and solutions (Oracle, SQL Server, InfluxDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • System administration experience in Windows
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with team members

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
