Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson Technology Services (JJTS) is recruiting for a Principal AI and DevOps Engineer for XENA Developer Experience, located in Raritan, NJ.

The Principal AI and DevOps Engineer, is a domain expert responsible for defining and leading Technology Services focused on the AI enablement of the Developer Experience and leading the acceleration of J&J's digital products with DevOps. The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering, delivery and production support of the platform services.

The candidate will work closely with Business Technology Leaders, Business Product Owners, Enterprise Architects, Senior Engineers and shared services teams on the delivery of platform capabilities that meet business strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering teams focused on the development of AI capabilities for the Developer Experience Platform, shaping the AI technology evolution and driving forward thinking designs.

  • As Service Owner define service roadmap, drive alignment with the business stakeholders and respective technology partners. Responsible for the operational processes, including lifecycle management, support of user experience, metrics, and reporting.

  • Drive adoption of the technology direction and global strategy, for AI enabled Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Investigate emerging technologies, build prototypes, and leverage opportunities that drive continuous improvement.

  • Mentor contributing engineers and lead the organization in adoption of “software defined” thinking and automation.

  • Lead AI context for the XENA Open DevOps Community, engage on feedback and develop technical training guidelines. Engage on consultations with the digital product owners across JJT.

  • Partner with Information Security and Risk Management teams on policies and automated controls for the effective implementation of AI agentic designs in alignment with DevSecOps principles.

  • Coordinate with technology partners on alignment of the service offerings and AI capabilities in context of J&J's business requirements

Experience And Skills:

Required:

  • Hands-on experience with the implementation of enterprise scale AI capabilities, Agentic frameworks and AI enabled application designs, including MCP servers, agent harnessing, observability and identity management. Advanced experience with frameworks like Strands, LangChain, LangGraph, cloud native services AWS AgentCore and Azure AI Foundry is required.

  • Advanced experience with technologies in DevOps and CI/CD domain, including Cloud Native frameworks, AWS and Azure Infrastructure administration, Infrastructure as Code, GitOps.

  • Proficient with at least two software development frameworks, preferably Node.js, Go, Python. Strong understanding of DevSecOps and the delivery of secure software. Experience with Agentic AI Code Development tools is required.

  • Strong understanding of authentication and authorization protocols. Hands-on experience with Azure AD, concepts like SSO, oAuth, SAML, ephemeral credentials, access tokens, IAM policies, and delegation of access managment.

  • 7+ years of experience of enterprise IT experience with application platforms

  • Proven experience in defining, shaping, and driving IT projects to completion including technical design and leading the delivery of enterprise services platforms.

  • Expertise in technology and industry trends related to Artificial Intelligence transformation, automation of business processes, self-service user experience with IT platforms, analytics.

  • Effective collaborator with cross-functional teams in large, global business organization. Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication skills, with proven record of presentations at the business technology leadership level.

Preferred:

  • Graduate level diploma with concentration on Artificial Intelligence is preferred.

  • Experience with AI Enabled SDLC experience with Atlassian Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket.

  • Proven technology expertise endorsed by industry recognized certifications

  • Active contributor to public Open Source projects

  • Driven, change agent pushing the status quo within and across organizational boundaries, processes. Must be results oriented, a quick learner, and a self-starter.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$102,000.00 - $177,100.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
