The Role 

The Platform Engineering Manager (Integrations) is responsible for leading a team of integration engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining the organization’s Integrations infrastructure. You will use your engineering knowledge and experience to propose and develop solutions to problems throughout our product development cycle by working closely with third party service provider. This is a key role, bringing components and systems together to form a System of Systems. You will lead the integration of engineering across all aspects of platforms & products, covering all stages in the engineering lifecycle – from concept to delivery, managing the maturity of our engineering solutions as they develop, taking any corrective action required and ensuring high standards and good engineering governance. The Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and innovative solutions in integrations management.

Roles and responsibilities

• Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Integration engineers.
• Working with third party service provider to ensure the integrations, development and delivery to our standards.
• Provide expert knowledge on APIs and how an integration can be leveraged to achieve a desired outcome, indicating potential scenarios to consider before implementing.
• Scope integrations based on business needs, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and integration requirements from third-party providers.
• Stay updated about technology trends and tools, such as iPaaS solutions, to evaluate and enhance our technology stack.
• Manage service components to ensure they meet business needs and performance targets.
• Identify process optimisation opportunities with guidance and contribute to the implementation of proposed solutions.
• Participate in the information security process.
• Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable Integration pipelines.
• Planning, prioritising, and managing multiple Integration engineering projects.
• Reliable and secure Integration solutions.
• Comprehensive documentation of Integration engineering processes and systems..

Experience Required

• Proficient in building integration team and strategy from scratch.
• Ability to inspire and lead a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment. 
• Extensive experience in leading the design and development of large-scale integration processing applications and infrastructure.
• Expert-level knowledge of the end-to-end Integration engineering process, demonstrating mastery in designing and implementing scalable solutions.
• Exceptional analytical skills with a track record of providing strategic insights and proposing innovative solutions.
• Proficiency in advanced Integration engineering tools, frameworks, and languages.

Qualifications/Skills

• Salesforce/Mulesoft is essential
•  iPaaS tools / solutions (Adobe Workfront Fusion, Workato, Tray.io, Integromat (now Make)) – desirable
• Web service APIs
  • authentication/authentication methods such as OAuth/HTTP basic auth/API keys
  • web services such as REST/SOAP
  • data and file formats such as XML/JSON/PDF/CSV
• Integrations between SaaS applications and other web services (SaaS and others)
• Educated to degree level 
•  Experience working with third party service providers
• SAFe Agile is Desirable
