Overview: We are searching for an experienced and innovative Cyber-Savvy Platform Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in platform systems engineering with a focus on cybersecurity. This role requires expertise in designing, implementing, and securing scalable and reliable platform systems. The Cyber-Savvy Platform Systems Engineer will play a key role in architecting and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our organization's critical platforms while ensuring robust cybersecurity measures are in place.


Responsibilities:

1. Platform Systems Engineering:

· Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable platform systems to support business-critical applications and services.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand platform requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

· Perform system integration, configuration, and testing to ensure seamless operation of platform systems.

2. Cybersecurity Integration:

· Implement cybersecurity best practices and standards throughout the platform systems architecture.

· Conduct risk assessments and security reviews to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.

· Integrate security controls and mechanisms into platform systems to safeguard against cyber threats.

3. Platform Automation and Orchestration:

· Develop and implement automation tools and scripts to streamline platform deployment, configuration, and maintenance tasks.

· Orchestrate platform systems using modern DevOps practices to achieve continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

· Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and address performance and security issues.

4. Incident Response and Forensics:

· Develop incident response plans and procedures to effectively respond to cybersecurity incidents.

· Conduct forensic analysis of security breaches to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.

· Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to mitigate security incidents and minimize impact.

5. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

· Maintain comprehensive documentation of platform system configurations, security policies, and procedures.

· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members on platform systems engineering and cybersecurity best practices.

· Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions and contribute to the continuous improvement of team processes and capabilities.


Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Sec+, CISSP, CEH, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) preferred.

· Minimum of 7 years of experience in platform systems engineering, with a focus on cybersecurity.

· Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable platform architectures using cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

· Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including secure system design, access control, encryption, and vulnerability management.

· Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

· Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAF, and endpoint security solutions.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in platform systems.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
