What you will be doing

The primary purpose of this role is to enable effective integration of change within the DevOps lifecycle, using a variety of tools and services to enhance the functionality, effectiveness, security, and performance of the organisations Data solutions. You’ll be working in collaboration with Data Engineering, Data Operations and other teams from across the IT domain.

 

Your responsibilities will include…

 

  • Hands on approach to continuous integration and deployment for database changes and support pipelines as well as data infrastructure and deployment lifecycle processes
  • Coordinating with colleagues in the On Premises DBA team and Cloud Centre of Excellence to monitor performance, availability and security, identify and resolve issues as well as implementing performance and optimisation strategies
  • Ensuring smooth integration of database updates with application code deployments
  • Assisting the implementation of automated testing and validation for database changes
  • Providing support and guidance for database related issues during development and deployment
  • Driving best practice, along with continual improvement as well as providing coaching and training for colleagues

In return for your commitment

We offer a base salary dependent on experience of between £72,000 - £90,000 and a competitive benefits package including:

Could you be the one?

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

 

  • Previous experience in hands on delivery of DevOps and Engineering within a regulated environment
  • Experience working as an established Azure Developer or similar role
  • Significant experience in system automation, deployment and implementation as well as continuous integration and deployment experience
  • Strong knowledge of the software development life cycle including Agile development methodology
