Kubernetes Platform Engineer

Key Role:

Manage, administer, support, and enhance cloud environments, ensuring continuous improvement and rapid problem resolution. Apply advanced consulting skills or extensive technical expertise, including full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction, and mentor and supervise team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience managing, administrating, configuring, deploying, and maintaining environments and system integration tools, including Kubernetes, Rancher, Harbor, Helm, Longhorn, Rook-Ceph, Chaos Engineering, and Grafana
  • Experience writing Terraform, Ansible playbooks, Linux automation scripts, rudimentary APIs, or automation scripts to interact with existing APIs, automated provisioning, infrastructure as code, and software development programming languages
  • Knowledge of systems monitoring, alerting, and analytics at the container level for APM tools, including Splunk, ELK, and Prometheus
  • Knowledge of IDAM requirements and technologies, including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, hardware tokens, OAuth 2.0, or OIDC
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification within 2 months of hire date

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience managing and deploying applications in an air-gapped environment
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and working on Agile teams using collaboration tools, including Jira, Confluence, or Discourse
  • Experience creating and conducting automated unit and system integration tests to identify and feedback failed modules and components
  • Experience working with CM tools, including GitLab, Git-centric, and CI/CD workflows
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas and deliver briefings with cross functional teams
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Possession of excellent listening skills
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Certified Kubernetes Security (CKS) Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,700.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
