Junior DevOps Engineer

Capcade’s product development team in Novi Sad is growing and we are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer. You will be part of a self-organized agile team that is working on our FinTech product which is shaping how financial transactions are sourced, negotiated and executed. 

We need you to help us build a better product by having the freedom to impact all stages of development - from idea, through development to delivery. As the product is our responsibility, we are happy to be able to choose the technology that is best suited to the needs of the product. Your ideas, decisions and skills will matter and will make an impact on our product and the company itself. 

Within our working environment we have a flat team structure, no middle management, communication that is direct and transparent between all team members. In addition, we have an in-house product management team, so there is no communication overhead.

Duties and responsibilities

As a Junior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing and streamlining our cloud infrastructure while ensuring seamless communication with our development teams. Ultimately, you will execute and automate operational processes quickly, accurately, and securely.

• Collaborate closely with development teams to understand their needs and provide efficient DevOps solutions.
• Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure, preferably on AWS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Utilize Kubernetes to manage containerized applications and streamline deployment processes.
• Automate the cloud environment using tools like Terraform or similar technologies, enabling infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring the reliability and scalability of applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continually enhance DevOps practices.

Requirements and qualifications

• Experience with Linux OS virtualization.
• Understanding of computer networking.
• Familiarity with container orchestration concepts.
• Familiarity with any cloud provider, preferably AWS.
• Affinity for scripting and automation.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with development teams and stakeholders.
• A problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide practical solutions.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure the stability and security of the cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, agile environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
