The Opportunity:

LVT People is looking for a talented AWS DevOps Engineer for our enterprise and government clients.

As an AWS DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing and maintaining the infrastructure and deployment pipelines that enable our applications to run efficiently, securely and reliably on Amazon Web Services (AWS).


Responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Create, maintain, and optimize infrastructure as code (IaC) templates using tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK. Automate the provisioning and configuration of AWS resources
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automating application builds, testing, and deployments.
    Utilize AWS services such as AWS CodePipeline and AWS CodeDeploy for CI/CD workflows
  • AWS Resource Management: Monitor and manage AWS resources, including EC2 instances, RDS databases, S3 buckets, and Lambda functions. Optimize resource usage and costs
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices, including access control, encryption, and network security, to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of data. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Monitoring and Logging: Set up monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, ELK stack) to track system performance, detect anomalies, and troubleshoot issues. Respond to alerts and incidents promptly
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies and solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity
  • Scripting and Automation: Write scripts and automation code (e.g., Python, Bash) to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency. Implement infrastructure automation using AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, or similar technologies
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and IT operations, to align DevOps practices with business objectives. Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, processes, and procedures. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to the team
  • Capacity Planning and Scaling: Analyze system performance and plan for capacity scaling to accommodate growth and changes in demand
  • Version Control: Manage and maintain version control systems (e.g., Git) for code and infrastructure configurations
  • Research and Development: Stay informed about AWS services and DevOps best practices. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance infrastructure and processes


Requirements

Selection Criteria


Essential
  • Proven 3 years of experience in AWS cloud engineering and DevOps practices
  • Proficiency in designing and managing AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Experience working within a SCRUM or SAFE agile team
  • Must have experience working within Jira and confluence
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and monitoring tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and optimize performance
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Team-oriented attitude and ability to adapt to evolving project requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Desired
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect 
  • Scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
