Job Summary: 

ITS, LLC is seeking a Senior Infrastructure and Platform Engineer to support US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance for a 24/7 support capacity and supervision at the site of Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The Infrastructure and Platform engineer designs, builds, and maintains the foundational infrastructure and tools that developers use, focusing on simplifying the complexity of software delivery, enhancing developer productivity, and aligning development practices with DoD objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing and Building Infrastructure:
    • Creating and maintaining the infrastructure that powers digital platforms, including server landscapes and system frameworks.

    • Responsible for coordinating with platform, data, and application teams for updates to monitoring / operational dashboards as needed to support the Contractor’s ability to efficiently run through troubleshooting procedures. This includes recommendations to application developers for modifications in support of added functionality, data/networks, and/or systems
    • Working with the SPO and CM to determine the priorities for ADPE tech refresh within the contract boundary and, upon approval, purchase appropriate replacements, and submit invoices to the SPO within 30 days for reimbursement

    • Provide infrastructure management as a service, based on a regular 5-days-a-week, 8-hours-a-day basis. Very limited surge and late-night support during test events, with on-call support for non-duty hours and weekends
    • Work with the CM to develop and maintain a configuration-controlled infrastructure management plan which includes: Tech refresh plan, Obsolescence/end-of-life planning 
    • Coordinate with the LOE 1 (Infrastructure, Platform, Networks, & Data) platform and Space C2 Software enablement contractor on the below Space C2 Infrastructure items located in VSFB Building 8401 to maintain operations of Space C2 and KM systems: Firewalls Switches Linux and Windows VMs Cloud/Blade server configurations Desktop support Storage Arrays Edge Devices Last mile connectivity to Kobayashi Maru environments User equipment and access points Manage External data feeds to Space C2 environments
    •  As the Infrastructure and Platform SME, you will assist with tracking and reporting on status of networks used by ATLAS, such as but not limited to AWS and Azure dedicated connections, Space Awareness Resilient Tactical Network (SPARTAN), Space Domain Awareness Network (SDANet), MeshOne-T, Space Defense Interface Network (SDIN), and Communications Processing System (CPS) 
    • Responsible for developing, updating, and executing workflows to inform and track Tier 2 support regarding a failure mode or degradation of platform, network, or infrastructure service. In the case of unclear cause of degradation, the Infrastructure and Platform SME will work with the HDaaS team to escalate to Tier 2 to further identify the source of the failure 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) in the DoD environment.

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools.

  • Scripting and automation languages (Python, Bash).

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience 

Clearance Requirement:

  • TS/SCI Clearance Required with possibility of SAP/SAR in future needs
