SUMMARY:
Β Lexington Clinic, Central Kentucky's largest multi-specialty healthcare provider, is seeking a Healthcare Data Platform Engineer to own the data foundation of our physician compensation intelligence platform. This is not a dashboard or reporting role. The engineer hired into this position will design and build the data infrastructure that determines whether physician compensation calculations are correct, auditable, and trusted by finance and clinical leadership.
This role owns the systems that must answer: why was a physician paid a specific amount in a specific period, and can we reproduce that calculation on demand? The work spans CPT-to-wRVU normalization, provider identity resolution, compensation plan rules modeling, and financial reconciliation pipelines across athenahealth, payroll, and contract data sources. This platform will serve as the system of record for physician compensation analytics and financial reconciliation across the organization. This is an on-site position. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required.
Β PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Β A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred, though relevant experience will be accepted in place of formal education. Candidates should demonstrate 3 or more years of professional experience in data engineering or healthcare analytics, with a strong foundation in SQL and data modeling. Proficiency in Python for pipeline development and automation is required. Experience with Snowflake and Azure Data Factory is strongly preferred. Familiarity with CPT coding, wRVU calculation methodology, and CMS fee schedule structures is a significant advantage. Candidates must be comfortable working with financial and clinical data where accuracy has legal and compliance implications, including Stark Law and FMV standards. Experience with athenahealth data exports or similar EHR data integration patterns is highly desirable. Strong documentation habits and a systematic approach to data quality and change management are essential.
Β PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:
Β Physical guidelines include the ability to move, traverse, and remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours per day. Manual dexterity, articulate speech, visual acuity, and ability to hear.
