Director, Field CISOs (North America, Cloud Services)

Position Overview

The Director of Field CISOs will lead a high-impact team of customer-facing security executives within the Field Engineering Specialists organization. This role is scoped to North American enterprise customers, where you will act as both leader and player-coach: mentoring and managing a team of Field CISOs while also directly engaging with a portfolio of strategic accounts.

You and your team will be responsible for executive-level engagement, trusted security advisory, and architecture-level guidance to help large enterprises securely adopt and expand their use of our cloud services. This includes guiding customers to modernize their architecture and operations for securing AI services, tenancies, workloads, and sensitive data

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in cybersecurity, with at least 5+ years in a CISO, Deputy CISO, Field CISO manager or equivalent executive leadership role
  • Experience leading security programs in cloud and AI environments at enterprise scale
  • Expertise in cloud-native and AI-native security architecture: IAM, zero trust, workload/container security, AI model governance, secure MLOps, data lineage, adversarial ML defenses
  • Strong executive presence with proven ability to engage both C-suite and technical architects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams while also directly engaging with customers
  • Familiarity with enterprise compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST CSF, FedRAMP, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS) and AI regulations/standards
  • Strong track record of public speaking and published thought leadership
  • Willingness to travel extensively within North America

Reporting & Scope

  • Reports to: VP, Field Engineering Specialists
  • Scope: North American enterprise customers
  • Manages: Regional Field CISOs and security advisors

Success Metrics

  • Customer CISO sentiment and trust (measured through surveys, executive feedback, NPS)
  • Success getting customers to Certify and Adopt Oracle Cloud and AI Services. 
  • Adoption and consumption of security services, including cloud-native services for securing:
    • Tenancies (secure configuration, monitoring, access governance)
    • Workloads (container/Kubernetes security, workload isolation, threat detection)
    • Data (encryption, DLP, key management, AI data governance)
  • Increased enterprise retention and expansion driven by secure adoption
  • Influence on pipeline creation and deal acceleration through trusted security engagement


Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and coach a team of Field CISOs aligned to North American enterprise accounts
  • Define engagement models, frameworks, and success metrics for customer-facing security programs
  • Act as a “player-coach” by maintaining CISO-level relationships with select strategic customers
  • Mentor Field CISOs on combining executive advisory with deep architectural security expertise

Customer Engagement & Security Architecture

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise CISOs, CIOs, and boards, guiding them on cloud security, compliance, and risk management
  • Lead security architecture design sessions for cloud and AI workloads: zero trust, IAM, workload protection, secure data management, encryption, and incident response
  • Guide customers in modernizing their operations and controls to secure AI services, including model governance, secure MLOps pipelines, and adversarial defense strategies
  • Facilitate workshops, executive briefings, and tabletop exercises
  • Help customers adopt and operationalize cloud-native security services for securing tenancies, workloads, and sensitive data at scale

Cross-Functional Influence & Voice of the Customer

  • Capture customer security needs, regulatory requirements, and architectural priorities to inform internal product and engineering roadmaps
  • Partner with corporate product and information security governance and the office of the Oracle CISO to support customer alignment with FedRAMP, GDPR, DORA, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and AI risk frameworks (e.g., NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act)
  • Collaborate with Field Engineering, Solution Architects, and Sales Specialists to drive secure adoption and accelerate enterprise wins
  • Represent our cloud and AI security strategy at industry events, conferences, and customer councils

Operational Excellence

  • Establish reusable reference architectures, playbooks, and frameworks for secure cloud and AI workloads
  • Provide executive-level support during major customer security incidents and ensure lessons learned inform improvements
  • Drive measurable outcomes for both customer success and business impact

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $161,700 to $270,800 per annum. May be eligible for equity and compensation deferral. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 60/40.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
