Salary Range: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on relevant experience

About the Role
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the software team. This exciting new role will place the right candidate at the forefront of unmanned air systems development in the UK.
In this role you will enable the software engineering team to deliver highly automated, testable and easy to deploy applications by collaborating with IT to provide the required environments, containers, CI/CD and test runners using our on-premises and cloud tools.
Responsibilities

Colloborate with the software engineering and testing teams to create and manage CI, runners, environments and deployment to a variety of targets

Work in collaboration with the IT team to ensure compliance with the companies cyber security polices and external accreditations, eg CE+

Maintaining and supporting infrastructure including security patches and upgrades

Work closely with our shared services IT team to ensure security requirements are being met

Prioritising DevOps workload
- Perform other related duties as required
About You
Qualifications
Desirable: Educated to degree level in a computing related subject
Skills and competencies
Essential
-
Demonstrable experience as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer, managing environments, containers, and source control software using both cloud and on-premises tools

Significant experience managing internal infrastructure

Collaborating in a team using issue tracking tools such as JIRA and Confluence
-
Proven on-premises and secure cloud practices
-
Expert knowledge of Docker
-
Building highly performant and scalable infrastructure
-
Knowledge of version control software and best practices
-
Use and configuration of monitoring tools
-
Self-motivated and excellent communicator across multiple teams and departments
-
Linux administration
Desirable
-
Experience working in defence or other highly regulated / security conscious environment

Previous experience with Gitlab

Previous experience or interest in drones or aviation

Collaborating in cross-functional teams across multiple departments

Infrastructure as Code experience eg Terraform

Working to a methodology eg Scrum, Agile

Experience with CSPs, particularly AWS or Azure
