The Space Systems Group, part of SPA.’s Space and Intelligence Division, provides timely and objective assessments and recommendations integrating technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis. We focus on our key clients in the Space community including the US Space Force’s Space Systems Command (USSF/SSC), one of the three designated Field Commands under USSF. We work tirelessly to provide integrated solutions based on information and communications throughout the chain of command.  We provide clear and consistent analysis and recommendations which are aligned to strategic and leadership goals while balancing the ability to  execute on time and on budget within the technical communities. SPA has an near-term need for a DevOps Engineer.

Responsibilities

 

As DevOps Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and participating in Agile and/or DevSecOps ceremonies.
  • Enabling rapid delivery of software in small batches.
  • Increasing the frequency and pace of releases to stagging, testing, and production environments.
  • Executing a DevSecOps approach, inclusive of a collaborative DevSecOps security integration workflow that delivers the system with security built in.
  • Sustaining existing and implementing new technologies across the DevSecOps pipeline.
  • Migrating software from development to testing, and subsequently, to the production environment.
  • Collaborating with other teams to provide test-driven, continuous code integration.
  • Supporting activities with the integration and configuration teams to ensure the automatic build and deployment process works effectively across all environments.
  • Providing DevSecOps expertise to ensure compliance and readiness for all Authorization to Operate (ATO) requirements.
  • Performing deployments of some or all code in accordance with organizational policy.
  • Supporting capabilities development and fielding within Gov-cloud AWS-hosted environment and cloud support services.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  Salary pay range:  130k - 160k

Qualifications

About the Must Haves

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience performing DevOps software development and deployment
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant STEM from an accredited institution
  • At least one or more of the following certifications:
    • AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, or equivalent
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess a current Secret Clearance
  • Your resume must demonstrate experience:
    • Implementing automated solutions to eliminate manual task for software testing, scanning, and deployment
    • Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for rapid build, test, and deployment
    • Integrating automated testing tools into the pipelines to perform unit test, integration test, security scans, and performance tests
    • Integrate security scanning tools to accomplish continuous security to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities early in development
    • Automating secrets management
    • Automating compliance checks and governance policies within the pipeline to adhere to various regulations
    • Implementing self-healing mechanisms in the CI/CD pipeline to detect and recover from failures
    • Proficiency with the following tools/technologies: Docker, GitLab, OWASP, Trivy, Nexus, Kubernetes, SonarQube, Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, React, Angular, Python, JavaScript, SQL, Artifactory
