Our engineers support customers throughout all phases of their cloud journeys driving the planning, designing, building, migrating, running, operating, and continuous optimization of cost, performance, and security of their workloads in the cloud. Responsibilities

  • Leverage our depth of experience with public clouds to provide full lifecycle managed services driving value for our clients
  • Maintain responsibility for the design, deployment, and maintenance of production-scale systems across multiple industries
  • Design, build, test, and deploy highly scalable and resilient cloud-based applications on public clouds
  • Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews
  • Use automation to streamline the provisioning, management, and monitoring of applications and services using multiple scripting languages, and infrastructure-as-code
  • Coordinate with development and platform teams to design and implement zero-downtime deployment approaches, real-time logging, alerting, and monitoring solutions, and code instrumentation
  • Introduce chaos engineering concepts to identify systemic weaknesses to increase service resiliency
  • Monitor application performance and maintain observability over key metrics for cloud workloads
  • Build reusable automation leveraging best practices
  • Create and maintain client design documentation (diagrams, runbooks, etc.)
  • Relentlessly work as a team to automate the undifferentiated heavy lifting associated with incident, change, and problem management
  • Provide recommendations on client workload optimization, cost reduction opportunities, architecture, and design changes
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for high severity incidents

Qualifications

  • Hands on experience in one or more public clouds and/or experience with web applications, virtualization technologies, operating systems, databases, networking, security or development.
  • Intellectual curiosity with an innate ability to learn and new technologies
  • Experience collaborating across multiple functional/technical teams to deliver a project.
  • Experience with version control software, including Git (GitHub, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Experience with logging solutions (ELK, Splunk, Sumo Logic, Datadog, etc.)
  • Experience with monitoring and visualization systems and tools
  • Hands-on experience collecting performance data, analyzing, troubleshooting, and tuning
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Passion for working in a customer facing setting

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on progressive IT experience
  • An understanding of ITIL best practices in a service provider setting
  • Infrastructure-as-Code experience using Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, ARM Templates, etc.
  • Experience with Configuration Management technologies (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
  • Experience with programming languages (Python, Java, Ruby, Go, Javascript, Typescript, etc.)
