Cloud Engineer
The Cloud Engineer is a key technical contributor responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and securing both our AWS cloud environment and internal Developer Platform. This role involves leveraging Java and AWS expertise to develop, deploy, and optimize cloud-native applications that empower development teams across the company. Using Infrastructure as Code practices with Terraform, you'll provision and manage cloud resources while ensuring security, scalability, and cost efficiency. Working collaboratively within a dedicated platform team, you'll create and maintain the technical foundation that enables development velocity across the organization.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform and other IAC tools
- Secure and optimize AWS environments following best practices and compliance requirements
- Develop and maintain Java-based applications and services running on AWS cloud infrastructure
- Support and evolve our internal Developer Platform to streamline engineering workflows
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Harness and GitHub for automated testing and deployment
- Configure and optimize AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, Application Load Balancers, and VPC
- Manage IAM roles, permissions, and security groups to enforce proper access controls
- Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance, availability, and cost optimization
- Collaborate closely with development teams to identify opportunities for platform improvements
- Troubleshoot complex issues across our cloud environment and application stack
- Contribute to architectural decisions that enhance resilience, performance, and cost-effectiveness
- Adheres to all confidentiality and compliance regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Work Experience:
- This job requires at least 7-10 years of experience in Software Design and Development.
- 5+ Years experience in AWS. Certifications are a plus.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong Java development experience with cloud-native application architectures
- Proven experience working with AWS services, particularly Lambda, API Gateway, VPC, and IAM
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Harness, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms
- Understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and practices
- Knowledge of containerization technologies and microservices architecture
- Ability to balance technical excellence with pragmatic problem-solving
- Excellent collaboration skills for working in a platform team environment
