Overview

A highly skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization’s cloud-based systems. You will work on the Infrastructure’s Open Systems team and closely with the Operations team to optimize cloud solutions and ensure they meet our business needs.

Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, deploy and maintain cloud-based systems.
  2. Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
  3. Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure inefficiencies, vulnerabilities, and application deployment issues.
  4. Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements.
  5. Collaborate with Infrastructure and Operations teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
  6. Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
  7. Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on client needs.
  8. Maintains a culture of continuous improvement by managing long and short-term projects using approved tools while working within budget constraints.
  9. Must have strong written, oral, communication and facilitation skills. Documents as a Standard
  10. Works closely with others to promote cyber security initiatives.
  11. Observes and enforces all company, human resources and safety policies, procedures, and rules
  12. Keeps the Director, IT Infrastructure, and other key managers abreast of significant issues or developments as appropriate.

Qualifications

Preferred Certifications: Azure Solution Architect, AWS Solution Architect, Microsoft/AWS DevOps

Minimum Experience Required: Seven (7) years of experience in similar role - OJT
Preferred Experience: 10 years of experience, (OJT) with industry certifications

 

A Cloud Engineer should have solid experience in a similar role, with a strong knowledge of Azure and AWS cloud services. Certifications are a plus. The job requires excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Good communication and teamwork skills are important for leading cloud computing projects. The candidate should be outcome-oriented and a cooperative team member. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, JSON, YAML, and Python is necessary.

 

Proficient with computer tools, online reporting software and computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite). Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, government regulations and company policies and procedure manuals. Ability to work with a diverse group of people and encourage and motivate people to take ownership and pride of their work. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid, unbiased conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, mathematical, diagram or schedule form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to work in a fast-paced, lean, global environment supporting multiple industries. Excellent problem-solving skills and must think strategically.
