Overview

Tantus Technologies, Inc. (Tantus) - recognized by the Washington Post as a Top Workplace - is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer SRE to support a Federal government client. You will be responsible for supporting the assessment our clients IT infrastructure to help plan and deploy their ongoing cloud migration. You will also assist in the oversight of the migration process and design, maintain and monitor the new system. 

 

* Preference for candidates within the National Capital Region (Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC).* 

* Must be a United States Citizen and must have an active Public Trust or the ability to obtain one. *

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with team members on the design, development, implementation and support of highly available, multi-region solutions within Microsoft Azure
  • Manage security and access controls of cloud-based solutions
  • Support cloud adoption of applications as they are being transformed and/or modernized
  • Configure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems

  • Pro-actively identify and resolve operational, tooling and process inefficiencies

  • Work to sustain maintain systems and application reliability
  • Analyze and ensure that proper monitoring and alerting systems are in place for systems, services, and applications
  • Coordinate and participate in planned maintenance activities to ensure IT systems are properly implemented and maintained according to best practices with minimal impact to the business
  • Coordinate with the team to develop and maintain proper processes, procedures, security, and system documentation according to industry best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Help evaluate new technologies and solutions to enhance the IT environment to serve strategic and tactical business objectives
  • Track and ensure awareness of the M365 roadmap, new tools and capabilities, and recommend their potential use within the organization
  • Design and configure services and environments in compliance with Federal security requirements

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in Information Technology
  • 3+ years of Microsoft Azure experience involving design, deployment, configuration and optimization using Azure management and monitoring services.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation
  • Experience with automation and scripting
  • Expert troubleshooting skills 
  • Federal IT regulatory compliance experience
  • Azure experience and/ or Azure certification 
  • Sec+ or equivalent cyber security experience, including operational zero trust knowledge
  • On-prem and cloud networking
  • Cloud native (Azure Monitor) and third-party monitoring solutions
  • MSFT Defender for cloud, Key Vault
  • Azure services such as Monitor, Advisor, Traffic Manager, Lighthouse, Activity Monitor, Application Insights and others.  
  • Hybrid cloud experience 
  • On-prem to Azure infrastructure migration experience
  • Experience building out IAC using Terraform
  • PowerShell and/ or Python
