Job: Azure Cloud Engineer
Term: April 2025 - June 2026 with renewal - CONTRACT
Work Authorization: USC or GC ONLY
Pay: $62-$65/Hr with relocation stipends
Location: 100 % On Site - Tallahassee, Florida
Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. [Experience in lieu of a degree]
Experience:
- Five (5) or more years of Windows server experience with three (3) or more years of Microsoft Azure or Cloud experience;
- Expertise with branching strategy, CI/CD pipeline implementation with Azure pipelines, and version control across environments with Azure repositories;
- Three (3) or more years of Linux server experience;
- Server administration experience with three (3) or more years administering Windows 2016 and newer;
- Five (5) or more years of experience with Active Directory and Domain Name System (DNS) administration in an enterprise environment with 1,000 or more users;
- Experience writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts;
- Experience working in a virtual server or Cloud environment; and
- Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting third party applications.
Preferred Experience:
- Certification in Agile or Scrum-based Project Management;
- IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Management Foundations Certified;
- Experience managing projects with a large, distributed user base;
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain processes that optimize Microsoft Azure resources;
- Analyze Azure resource performance to identify resource contention, and recommend changes or upgrades as needed to ensure optimization;
- Perform Microsoft Entra identification management activities;
- Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation;
- Work with data center staff, OIT, and users to perform Azure resource deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes;
- Assist Azure application owners/administrators and users with appropriate application access;
- Train infrastructure team members on Azure and Azure best practices as required;
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows and Linux server issues with minimal impact on users;
- Write PowerShell scripts to be used to monitor server properties and perform Active Directory and Azure management activities;
- Administer and configure Azure infrastructure security as needed for OIT staff and users;
- Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements;
- Provide recommendations for possible process improvements within the Department’s infrastructure team;
- Create schedules for the development and implementation of specific software systems; and
- Perform additional Systems Administrator tasks as required by the Department.
