Job Overview:
The AWS Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure and services on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role requires expertise in AWS cloud technologies, a strong understanding of cloud architecture, and the ability to ensure the security, scalability, and performance of cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams to support and optimize cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure and services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
- Implement and manage cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance.
- Monitor and optimize cloud performance, cost, and resource utilization using AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate cloud solutions with application deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS cloud infrastructure, performance, and security.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services, features, and industry trends to continuously improve cloud solutions.
- Provide technical support and guidance for cloud-related projects and initiatives.
- Document cloud architecture, processes, and configurations for reference and training purposes.
Experience:
- Proven experience of a minimum of 3+ years as an AWS Cloud Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency with AWS services and cloud architecture, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
- Experience with cloud security practices and tools, including IAM, encryption, and compliance.
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar tools.
- Experience with monitoring and performance optimization tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, or Prometheus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex cloud issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies.
