Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our IT Systems Engineering team at Marsh. This role will be based in Phoenix, AZ or Louisville, KY. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The AWS Cloud Engineer will design, implement, and maintain secure, compliant AWS environments—including AWS GovCloud—ensuring alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements. They will also build and manage robust DevOps pipelines using GitHub to automate the software development lifecycle, enabling efficient code integration and deployment.

We will count on you to:

  • Utilize Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to enable consistent, repeatable deployments across AWS platforms.

  • Manage version control using Git to collaborate effectively and maintain project development history.

  • Develop automation and self-service solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention for development teams.

  • Support AWS commercial, GovCloud, and AWS China environments, ensuring compliance and best practices across all platforms.

  • Implement GitOps methodologies and tools to streamline infrastructure deployment, ensuring versioned and auditable infrastructure changes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical guidance and ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.

  • Monitor system performance and optimize infrastructure for cost, performance, security, and high availability.

What you need to have:

  • Proven experience with FedRAMP and StateRAMP compliance standards to meet regulatory requirements.

  • Strong expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting AWS environments with a deep understanding of cloud best practices.

  • Hands-on experience building and managing DevOps pipelines in GitHub, focusing on CI/CD practices.

  • Extensive Terraform skills, including module creation, state management, and resource provisioning best practices.

  • In-depth knowledge of Git for version control, including branching strategies and collaboration workflows.

  • Strong experience with GitHub Actions for automating workflows and deployment strategies.

  • Familiarity with Upbound or Crossplane for Kubernetes resource management and multi-cloud control planes.

  • Proficiency in Python 3.x for scripting, automation, and custom tool development.

  • Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux for consistent infrastructure deployment.
