Studies & experience:
· Graduate with a Master’s degree from a Technical University with a specialization in Hardware or Software engineering
· No prior experience required
Language skills:
· Fluent in English (B2-C1) (written and orally) is a must
· German is a plus
· An intermediate level in French would be helpful
Technical, operational & Soft skills:
· Proficient/Good command of MS Office
· Good communication and presentation skills
· Some experience working with Relational and non-relational Databases (e.g. Sybase ASE, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch), visualization tools (e.g. Grafana), Monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, CMAK, others), Machine Learning,

The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Germany is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.

Pre-Trade Trading Tools DevOps team is part of a larger group of 30+ colleagues delivering Production Support. The team is responsible for tooling required by production support team in charge of the Pre-Trade Tools for Market Making infrastructure within Société Générale.
We work closely with our Production Support team and our development teams to maintain, develop, improve and decommission tools used by the 2 teams and additionally tools used by our customers, the Trading Floor colleagues in charge of Market Making (Traders and Sales). You will be in charge, together with the DevOps and Production Support teams, of monitoring our productive system and solve or prevent technical issues.
We are at the heart of an industrial pre-trade information system involving hundreds of servers, processes and applications interacting in real time to allow the business to stream live prices of about 700k financial instruments and to negotiate electronically up to 1 million requests per day.
· Maintain, develop, improve and decommission tools used by teams withing our Trading Tools application scope
· Maintain and extend our implementations and usage of industry standard technologies like ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger and more
· Evaluate existing tools and formulate improvement proposals; SWOT analysis
· Investigate Issues raised by our users or other colleagues
· Coordinate end-to-end the resolution of an issue, communicate to the management and to the users about the status and the estimated time of resolution
· Follow-up remediation actions leading to preventing next incidents of the same nature (monitoring enhancements, additional checks, information to users, feature implementations)
· Perform testing of new deliveries in non-productive environments
· Coordinate transversal projects with an impact in our perimeter
· Work on corporate driven projects which apply in our perimeter
