System Engineer (m/f/d)

We are looking for a

System Engineer (m/f/d) for our location in Munich (we only review applications of professionals living there or nearby)

YOUR MISSION

• Plan, design and maintain our intercontinental network in six locations worldwide
• Optimize our datacenter packet switching infrastructure for reliability, low latency and throughput
• Keep our network safe with OpenBSD firewalls and connect to customers over leased lines and VPN
• Extend and develop automated network configuration tools using 100% open source software (e.g. ansible, python)
• Assist the team by taking part in a rotating on-call system (about one week in five, fully compensated)
• Help with maintaining our ~600 Linux servers (Debian 12, CentOS 8)
• Broaden your skills by learning technologies like Kubernetes and Puppet

YOUR PROFILE

• Programming experience in at least one scripting language, ideally Bash, Perl or Python
• Very good Linux and network knowledge, familiar with command line handling
• Experience with Icinga, Puppet, Hiera, Linux KVM, Git, Facter, Ansible or MySQL desirable
• Fully versed in the use of monitoring, switches, routers, firewalls and loadbalancers
• Several years of experience in similar environments
• Good communication skills in English (written and verbal), good German skills are a plus
