The Opportunity
The Sr. DevOps Engineer will serve as a key contributor in automating and optimizing the software and data delivery lifecycle. This role bridges the gap between development, data engineering and operations by designing, building, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines, fostering a culture of automation, observability, and accountability. The ideal candidate is passionate about enabling faster, safer, and more reliable software delivery and data reliability, while partnering cross-functionally to enhance scalability, resilience, and operational excellence.
What You Will Do
- Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible to provision and manage environments consistently.
- Collaborate with software development teams to ensure consistency across development, staging, and production environments, leveraging containers and Kubernetes.
- Partner with CloudOps, AI, Data and Platform Engineering to design and maintain resilient, scalable infrastructure that supports application, AI and data delivery.
- Implement CI/CD for data workflows using orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, dbt Cloud, Cloud Composer, or Dagster).
- Ensure data pipelines are observable, version-controlled, and deployable using the same DevOps principles applied to software systems.
- Automate application build, test, and deployment workflows to accelerate delivery and reduce human error.
- Manage and optimize deployment strategies, including blue/green, canary, and rolling releases.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging DevOps tools and practices to improve delivery efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
- Mentor and guide developers and operations staff on DevOps best practices and CI/CD processes.
- Foster a culture of proper code and configuration promotion through well-defined pre-production and production environments.
- Support container management from a release and delivery perspective.
What You will Need to Succeed:
- Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.
- Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related services for compute, storage, and networking.
- Expertise in deployment methodologies such as blue/green, canary, and rolling updates.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring and observability stacks.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python, PowerShell, or Go) for automation and integration.
- Experience with version control and Git-based workflows.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a track record of working effectively across development, operations, and infrastructure teams.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and advocate for DevOps principles across teams.
- A continuous improvement mindset focused on speed, safety, and reliability in software delivery.
- Experience automating and orchestrating data ingestion and transformation pipelines across databases, APIs, and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Postgres) using CI/CD principles
- Understanding of data pipeline observability, data quality validation, and versioning practices (e.g., dbt tests, schema migration automation, or metadata tracking).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a related field with progressive responsibility.
- Mastery of the Google Cloud Platform
- Experience w/MLOps to deploy and manage AI technologies such as Ollama, FastAPI, Vector Systems as well as building CI/CD for data pipelines and integrating ML model deployment workflows.
- Experience managing containers from a CI/CD and release management perspective.
- Background in security automation, compliance, and policy-as-code frameworks.
- Experience with automated testing and quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and modern software delivery practices.
