As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector's Cloud Foundation Services team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Collaborates with JPMC cloud teams and external lines of business to determine enhancements to cloud capabilities and products
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied cloud experience
- Applied proficiency developing, enhancing and supporting next-generation IaC cloud modules and functionality with Terraform
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Demonstrable proficiency for coding Python, Go or other automation scripting language
- Strong SDLC skills, including configuration of build pipelines, release management, change management and GitOps model
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
- Designs and implements scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS infrastructure solutions
- Develops and maintains infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Automates infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes
- Proficiency with cloud architecture design principles for security, resiliency, cost optimization, observability
- Develops and maintain scripts and tools to enhance operational efficiency
- Participates in continuous learning and professional development opportunities
- Ability to triage and debug code to identify and resolve issues in automation scripts and frameworks
- Experience in using Cucumber for behavior-driven development (BDD) and test automation
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Demonstrable proficiency for coding Python, Go or other automation scripting language
- Exposure to cloud technologies
- Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, AWS ECS and AWS EKS
