Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer - Systems Engineer to assist in mapping and optimizing all aspects of the underlying I.T. infrastructure. This crucial role involves contributing to the modernization of our on-premises IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building and operating all areas of an I.T. infrastructure. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) Program, for the US Coast Guard (CG). 

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Utilize monitoring and triage tools to deeply understand the I.T. estate.
  • Engage in special projects alongside engineering and operations teams, aimed at infrastructure modernization and stabilization.
  • Contribute to hybrid on-prem/private cloud and public cloud strategies.
  • Assist the operations team in stabilizing existing IT environments through strategic project collaboration.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience or Master's degree and 6 years experience or HS Diploma/equivalent and 12 years experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Extensive experience with hands-on, on-premise work
  • Hands-on systems engineering experience, with a strong focus on on-premise infrastructure in large-scale, mission-critical enterprise environments.
  • Proficient in shell scripting
  • Strong experience with all layers of an I.T. platform including networking, storage, compute, operating systems, services, and applications.
  • Rapid adaptability to new technologies and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale commercial IT infrastructure management and modernization.
