Job Description:

As a SRE for the Data Management Platform, you’ll work on ensuring application reliability and working in a true DevOps environment, ensuring that infrastructure is running smoothly, increasing efficiency through automation, and driving a culture of continuous improvement. As an IT Data Platform SRE you will have a strong background in data governance data cataloguing, data lineage preferably on Collibra tool and cloud platforms.Β  Affinity with Data Management tools such as Informatica MDM, Collibra Data Governance Tool (Must have) and Data Access is preferable but not required. The SRE responsibilities for Data Management Platform consist of both Engineering and Operations teams into a DevOps model, rigorously investing in product and platform reliability through software best practices.

Other accountabilities:

  • Work as part of DevOps team (global) to deliver world class services to our consuming businesses.

  • Responsible for innovative design and implementation of enterprise data governance, data catalogue and data management platforms.

  • Work closely with product team members and development partners to shape the architecture, design, and implementations of new and existing systems to enhance their reliability, performance, efficiency, and scalability.

  • Automation of deployment and configuration processes.

  • Develop standardized approaches, patterns and blueprints to secure design, scripted deployment, and maintenance tasks.

  • Build and scale the technology infrastructure through SRE best practices.

  • Techno-Functional role in building the Metamodel, Business Glossary, Reference Data, Data Catalog, Policy Manager, Scorecards and Data Governance Workflows .

  • Creating enterprise level Data Governance Operating Model for large organizations using Data Catalog (preferably Collibra).

  • Responsible for delivering smooth operations of Data Management Tools specifically Collibra Data Governance

  • Involved in Data Governance steering committee meetings with clients to finalize Data Governance Strategy and Roadmap.

  • Creating enterprise level Data Governance Operating Model for large organizations using Collibra and Designed data governance policies, rules & process flows for Glossary, Metadata, Lineage &Stewardship.

  • Design assessment questionnaire covering data management knowledge areas and sub areas. E.g., data governance, data quality, data architecture, data security etc.

  • Worked on defining Master Data, Reference Data and Data Lineage using Collibra Data Catalog.

  • Collaborated with IT team to prioritize and address issues and opportunities regarding data sourcing, business rules, data aggregation, data distribution, and data consumption.

  • Manage data issues, as needed, and medium to large data management-related projects of varying levels of scope and complexity.

  • Developing POC(s) around Data Quality and Business Asset Cataloging and integration with 3rd Party Systems.

  • Provide support technical incidents via troubleshooting, timely escalation, pro-active monitoring, problem management and delivers automation and improvement initiatives (reliability, performance, cost) in close collaboration with Application suppliers as well as Software vendors, including SaaS vendors like Informatica and Collibra

  • Product stability, compliance, and security, enabled through the Operational Readiness Framework (ORF) and automation of ORF tasks and evidence.

Contribute to SRE culture by working closely with other team members in creation of required templates or best practices documents to improve Shell’s SRE capabilities and support blameless post-mortems (or retrospective).
