Job Description

As a Senior Manager in DevOps at AWS Cloud, you will lead a team of passionate individuals focused on product development and automation. You will work with emerging technologies to build data solutions on AWS and on-premises platforms. Your role will involve supporting the creation of AWS based frameworks using CNCF patterns, Kubernetes, Isitio, Helm, Flagger, Prometheus, Splunk, APM, Monitoring, Observability and Alerting. In this role, you will be responsible for: Providing direction to the technology team, creating strategic roadmaps, and developing robust support models for products and services. Collaborating with Agile teams to design, develop, test, and implement technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies. Partnering with Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Information Management, and the Enterprise Project Management Office to help the business achieve its long-term goals. Ensuring compliance with CoBank's policies, application development standards, and procedures. Assisting in the development and release of key software application modifications and enhancements. Overall, this role offers a unique opportunity to lead a team in creating innovative solutions on AWS Cloud and drive the success of digital products within the organization.

Essential Functions

1. Collaborates with IT leadership to address issues and implement new projects effectively.
2. Leads a team of employees and contractors in managing a complex IT infrastructure environment on AWS, prioritizing quality, availability, productivity, and consistency.
3. Identifies current and future technology needs, and guide the team’s technical direction for capacity planning. Recommend necessary technology and training requirements.
4. Resolves application and technical issues promptly by coordinating with IT or business stakeholders when needed.
5. Establishes and enforce policies and procedures within a structured methodology to maintain a consistent operating environment.
6. Provides regular updates to leadership on issues, progress, and any critical developments within the team.
7. Supports the management of the annual operating budget for the IT department.
8. Collaborates with IT security to implement policies and ensure compliance with CoBank Enterprise Security standards.
9. Cultivates strategic relationships with vendors, assess service levels, and monitor invoice charges in accordance with contract terms.
10. Supervises and supports staff, setting performance standards, managing workflow, evaluating performance, and recommending personnel actions as needed in alignment with HR guidelines.
11. Demonstrates expertise in onboarding new applications by analyzing technical specifications, configuring infrastructure, implementing security measures, and establishing governance and support models.

Education

  • Master's Degree in computer science, information systems or a relevant discipline preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems or a relevant discipline preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required

Work Experience

8 years of relevant experience, preferably in banking or financial services, required
8 years of supervisory/management experience, required
8 years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure or other cloud, required
10 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud, Infrastructure or Networking required
Advanced understanding of the software development life cycle and related methodologies
Proven capability to prioritize and manage a backlog of application development and maintenance work, including estimating work tasks and forecasting skill requirements to support business objectives
Proficient in business platforms, systems, methodologies, data governance, and reporting, with a deep understanding of business needs and requirements
Ability to develop and guide design, implementation, and support procedures
Familiarity with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, with the ability to integrate them appropriately into the CoBank environment
Skilled in conducting design and code reviews, and evaluating the quality of IT deliverables
Strong understanding of project management concepts and ability to implement them effectively
Capability to identify changes in scope or work effort that may impact budget or delivery dates
Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and team-building skills, including the ability to manage, train, and motivate individuals, and instill accountability, ownership, and transparency to ensure on-time delivery of projects and commitments
Proven track record of building high-performing technology delivery teams that are aligned with business objectives and possess a deep understanding of the needs of the business teams they support.

About CoBank

The typical base pay range for this role is between $154,057 - $214,216. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
