Western National is seeking a Senior IT Platform Engineer to join our team! 


The individual in this role will have the opportunity to specialize in AWS Cloud and CI / CD pipelines and will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure and CI / CD deployment processes. The individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality software products.


What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?

  • Designs, deploys, and maintains scalable and secure AWS Cloud infrastructure.
  • Develops and manages CI / CD pipelines to automate software builds, tests, and deployments.
  • Collaborates with development, operations, and security teams to implement best practices and ensures compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitors and optimizes system performance, reliability, and security.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves infrastructure and deployment issues.
  • Provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Stays up to date with the latest AWS services and DevOps trends to drive continuous improvements.
  • Participates in regular on-call rotation duties to support a 24/7 operation.
  • Consistently acts according to our customer experience standards by responding quickly, maintaining a positive attitude, building rapport, demonstrating empathy, managing the customer’s expectations, using the proper communication channel for the situation, and taking ownership to ensure the customer’s issue is resolved.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned. 
Requirements

  

What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate?

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field; experience in lieu of degree is acceptable. 
  • Five or more years of experience in IT infrastructure, with a focus on AWS cloud and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Strong expertise in AWS services, such as EC2, S3, RDS, or Lambda.
  • Specific experience with AWS EKS.
  • Strong expertise with containerization concepts.
  • Proficiency in CI / CD tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and system architecture principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

What will our ideal candidate have?

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Administrator certification.
  • Strong Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, or ELK stack.

Compensation overview

The targeted hiring range for this role is $128,700 - $157,300, annually. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and/or may be considered for other positions.
