Job Role: 
DevOps Release Engineer responsible for implementing production code releases, upholding IT change management controls, and developing automated CI/CD processes (build, test, deploy). This role requires expertise in SDLC, release management, CI/CD practices, and IT operational controls. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, automate solutions, and ensure compliance with industry standards is essential. Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), .NET applications, and script-based automation is required.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the implementation of various in-house and third-party application changes in on-premises and cloud-based production environments.
  • Developing automated solutions for continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for both on-site and cloud-based (Azure/AWS) applications.
  • Performing SOX/SOC 1 controls, including testing systems for completeness and accuracy, gathering audit evidence, and monitoring user access.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to software design, information security, risk management, and audit controls.
  • Collaborating with application development and infrastructure cloud engineers to resolve issues and build infrastructure solutions.
  • Packaging releases, including reviewing documentation and artifacts for specifications, development, QA, and deployment.
  • Applying knowledge of IT operational controls and enforcing change management control processes.
  • Maintaining documentation for release management processes.
  • Educating and guiding other Information Technology teams on the above processes as needed.
Ideal Candidate:

  • Expert knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) processes and DevOps Release Management.
  • Expert knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) development.
  • Working knowledge of Risk Assessment.
  • Working knowledge of Information Technology Audit controls, primarily focused on Change Management.
  • Expert knowledge of IT Standards and Best Practices.
  • Experience building and deploying .NET applications in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Experience developing solutions on the AWS cloud platform.
  • Experience with script-based automation (Ant, Bash, DOS, Perl, PowerShell, Python).
  • Experience working with Git and TFVC source repositories.
  • Experience with security code scanning protocols and resolution.
