About Us

Soda’s mission is to monitor the world’s decisions. We’re building the first Data and AI performance monitoring platform that spans data collection to automated decision-making. Soda helps customers detect, resolve, and prevent data quality issues by combining automated post-production monitoring with pre-production pipeline data testing. We enable Data Engineers to effectively own DQ by “shifting left” the data quality initiatives from business to engineering.

Soda was founded in 2019 by  (employee #5 at Collibra, Go-To-Market leadership) and  (launched multiple OSS projects generating hundreds of millions in value). Together, they built a tool that ensures data quality across Data Engineering, Data Governance, and business use cases. Our open-source project, Soda Core, is already used by companies like Tesla, Slack, Adyen, Walmart, and JPMC. Soda commercializes its software through the Soda Cloud product. We're well-funded, with investors like Point 9 Capital, Hummingbird, Singular, and Eurazeo.

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing startup at the cusp of becoming a leader in AI Observability.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of Soda’s infrastructure. You will design and scale a cloud platform capable of handling billions of datasets, build automation that allows our engineers to ship features daily, and create the reliability and performance foundation for everything Soda does.

This role is about building a modern, world-class DevOps practice that enables us to move at startup speed without sacrificing stability. You’ll work side by side with the CTO, senior engineers, and product leadership to define how infrastructure is built, deployed, and observed. As Soda grows, we expect you to grow with us. As we scale, a successful candidate will set long-term infrastructure strategy, shape engineering-wide practices, and grow and lead a team around them.

Responsibilities

  • Help to scale Soda Cloud to billions of datasets and thousands of customers with reliability, performance, and security at the core.
  • Take full ownership of Soda’s infrastructure, including cost, operations, reliability, and performance.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and automation of scalable Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows that ensure safe, frequent, and automated deployments.
  • Implement observability, reliability, and security standards across our platform.
  • Support large-scale machine learning workflows and mentor engineers to maintain a DevOps-first culture.

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on experience designing, scaling, and operating cloud-native SaaS platforms in high-growth startups (AWS first, with Azure or GCP experience a plus).
  • Mastery of Kubernetes and containerized deployments and deep knowledge of AWS services (EKS, IAM, networking, ECS/Fargate, SQS, RDS, S3, …).
  • Hands-on with CI/CD, GitOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like GitHub Actions, ArgoCD/Flux, Terraform, Pulumi, plus solid scripting skills (Python, Bash, Go).
  • Strong background in observability (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, etc.) and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices and supporting ML pipelines in production.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English - both oral and written.
  • You are proactive, independent, and comfortable in proposing new ideas. This also means holding your ground when you believe you are right.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior work in a regulated environment (ISO27001, SOC2, or similar).
  • FinOps / cloud cost optimization experience.
  • Service mesh knowledge (Istio, Linkerd).

Benefits

  • The opportunity to be a part of the exciting early stages of a well-funded, European-based Open Source start-up with significant traction and massive venture potential
  • Fully Remote Working Environment with an option to work from an office
  • Compensation: up to 110 000 EUR/year + equity
