This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Trilogy Federal. We are currently looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer in Georgia (USA).

This role offers the opportunity to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure, scalable cloud-based DevOps solutions. The Senior DevOps Engineer will work on modernizing IT systems, including legacy applications, while embedding robust security practices across the development lifecycle. The position requires collaboration with technical teams, Agile workflows, and stakeholders to ensure high availability, efficiency, and compliance with federal security standards. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices, while mentoring team members and integrating emerging technologies like containerization and AI. Occasional on-site visits may be required to support operational initiatives.

Accountabilities

·         Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps for secure and efficient application delivery.

·         Engineer cloud infrastructure on AWS or Azure, optimizing performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency while enforcing security controls (encryption, IAM policies).

·         Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk mitigation to ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST, FIPS 140-2, and other federal standards.

·         Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Cloud Engineers, and Release Managers to integrate security practices into Agile sprints and release cycles.

·         Harden cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines, leveraging monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch or Azure Monitor to protect systems and data.

·         Support the migration of applications to cloud platforms, ensuring secure architecture, smooth transitions, and post-migration stability.

·         Utilize approved tools (Jira, GitHub, ServiceNow) to document workflows, configurations, and contribute to status reports on pipeline performance and security posture.

·         Troubleshoot DevOps and security-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain high availability for corporate services.

·         Integrate emerging technologies, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and AI, to enhance DevOps processes.

·         Collaborate with stakeholders (COR, ISO) to address security requirements and deliver exceptional operational outcomes.

·         Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members on DevOps tools, cloud security, and compliance best practices.

·         Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives) to align DevOps and security efforts with team deliverables and VIP Lean-Agile frameworks.



Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master’s preferred).

·         Active certification in one of the following: AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), AWS DevOps Engineer (Professional), Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or CISSP; additional DevOps/security certifications preferred.

·         8+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, cloud infrastructure, or cybersecurity, with exposure to federal or VA IT environments.

·         Hands-on expertise in CI/CD pipeline development, cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), and security implementation using tools like Terraform, Jenkins, and security scanners (Nessus, Qualys).

·         Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance operational efficiency with security requirements.

·         Familiarity with VA security standards (FISMA, NIST, HIPAA) and VIP Lean-Agile framework highly desirable.

·         Proficiency in MS Office applications and approved tools (Jira, GitHub, ServiceNow).

·         Ability to adapt to evolving technical requirements and travel occasionally to Washington, D.C., as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Experience with VA, VBA, or VHA systems.
