What we do - This is your team
The Developer Productivity Engineering team is responsible for the cloud infrastructure at Europace. 16 internal product teams deploy and run their containerized and serverless workloads using our easy to use, reliable and secure internal products. Our Kubernetes-based Container Platform is one of those products which enables teams to run their Microservices. An Open Telementy and Grafana based Observability stack is another one, that provides our users insights to identify bottlenecks and troubleshoot production issues. We are driven by improving our products, tech stack, collaboration, and ourselves. We seek technical excellence to provide cost effective products which teams enjoy using and we are proud of.
We look forward to getting to know you - come as you are!
Your Job
This is how a typical day at Europace looks like as a Cloud Engineer:
-
You update, upgrade and operate the business critical infrastructure all products at Europace are built upon.
-
You abstract away all the nitty gritty details of infrastructure, enabling our developers to take responsibility for operating their workloads without being operations experts.
-
You work on our DevPro products, contribute ideas, run proof-of-concepts and experiments to figure out how to make them more secure, more reliable, more efficient and easier to use.
-
You write code to automate recurring tasks, provision cloud infrastructure, or implement a Microservice.
-
You propose, discuss, and make technical decisions with the team via architectural decisions record or RFCs.
-
You take part in our user support rotation, answering requests from developers, fixing bugs, and taking care of alerts.
-
You support other teams using our products, migrating their workloads, setting up Auto Scaling and Zero-downtime deployments for their Microservices, and general troubleshooting.
Bring this to be successful
-
You feel confident working on code and with technologies you have never seen before.
-
You feel responsible for the success of your team. You take ownership of projects, you break them down into smaller independent tasks, so the whole team can work on them.
-
You consider collaboration in pairing sessions, retrospectives, or talking to developers, product managers, customer support, and commercial people an essential part of your work.
-
You enjoy working in a team where everyone challenges each other, working on achieving goals together, continuously improving the process and collaboration.
-
You have hands-on-experience with AWS and Kubernetes. Bonus for production experience with CNCF projects & tools.
-
You have experience writing code in TypeScript and/or Python or are able to learn them quickly.
-
You have experience managing infrastructure as code with CDK or Cloudformation.
-
You value quality documentation and you strive to write high quality documentation for your work as well.
-
You feel comfortable working in a distributed remote team. Plus if you already worked in such an environment and know how to work asynchronously.
