Responsibilities

 

Peraton is looking for a self-driven Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team!  The Offering team is comprised of people with advanced technical & leadership skills in multiple areas, including Cloud and Application services.  The team develops and creates re-usable services & capabilities targeted at Government agencies (Federal, State, and Local).  This is a great opportunity to join a fast, agile company in providing secure solutions to our nation.

 

First and foremost, the candidate must have a passion for innovation and learning. The candidate must be highly skilled in enterprise solution development for Federal/DoD proposals and as a  of digital transformation and modernization programs and solutions, including public and private cloud offerings, Scaled Agile Framework, Sec DevOps CI/CD pipeline automation, low code/no code platforms, Kubernetes, microservices, cloud and application security, data and analytics, and everything as code approaches (infrastructure, configuration, pipeline, test, policy). The candidate should have some experience in software development and concepts, but this is not a hands-on developer role.

 

 What you will do:

  • Designs cloud architecture and completes plans and specifications to develop solutions.
  • Collaborates with product managers and engineers to develop specifications for new cloud-based products/services, applications, and solutions.
  • Drives the roll-out of cloud management platforms, evaluates its performance and implements enhancements.
  • Develops and enriches the product portfolio of cloud services and value-added services.
  • Creates solution recommendations to include Basis of Estimate for cloud services.
  • Evaluates the cost/benefit of cloud vs. virtual private networks vs. dedicated hosting vs. in house solutions and identifying portions of the organization’s IT platform/infrastructure with the highest potential return for cloud deployment.
  • Performs operations and maintenance of secure managed cloud platform solutions.
  • Implements and maintains automation to enhance operation, alerting, and auto remediation of events. Develops, maintains, and deploys infrastructure as code using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Designs, develops, and implements cloud-based solutions
  • Lead development of cloud and application services repeatable solutions and technical artifacts
  • Continuous development of new skills and learnings to keep pace with emerging technology innovations
  • Define and document best practices and strategies for Cloud and Applications Services offerings
  • Communicate technical topics to management, peers, customers, and non-technical audiences

Qualifications

  • Min 8 years with BS/BA. Additional years of relevant experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree
  • Strong Cloud/Azure/AWS experience
  • Kubernettes /DevSecOps experience
  • Strong writing skills for proposals and whitepapers
  • Deep Lead Solution Architect experience developing enterprise and comprehensive technical and management solutions, graphics, storytelling, solution strengths development, proposal organization, technical and management volume lead capabilities
  • Broad technology background with strong research and learning skills in support of constantly evolving and emerging technologies
  • Strong team leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Agile Framework experience
  • Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Government or Federal experience

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
