As a Senior Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will leverage your deep expertise in Atlassian tools and modern DevOps/DevSecOps practices to play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions while enabling secure, automated Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and toolchains across the software development lifecycle.

 

 

You will report directly to our Sr IT Manager and you’ll work on a hybrid work schedule out of our Phoenix, Arizona site. Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure software systems.
  • Lead the integration, administration, and customization of Atlassian tools including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo to support Agile and DevOps workflows.
  • Design and operate CI/CD pipelines integrating source control, build, test, security scanning, and artifact management tools.
  • Manage and support artifact repositories using Artifactory, including repository structure, access control, and lifecycle management.
  • Integrate and administer code quality and security tools such as SonarQube, Black Duck Hub, and Coverity to enable DevSecOps practices.
  • Automate workflows, reporting, and dashboards across DevOps and DevSecOps tools to improve developer productivity and compliance.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to embed security and quality checks early in the SDLC.
  • Troubleshoot CI/CD, build, and deployment issues across environments.
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for DevOps, CI/CD, and tool usage.
  • Stay current with emerging DevOps, DevSecOps, and AI-assisted development technologies and recommend improvements.
  • Travel: up to 10%
  • Relocation support may be provided


Qualifications

 You Must Have

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong focus on DevOps/DevSecOps.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Hands-on experience administering and integrating Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo).
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Working experience with Artifactory for artifact repository management.
  • Hands-on experience with code quality and security scanning tools such as SonarQube, Black Duck Hub, and Coverity.
  • Scripting experience (Shell, Groovy, Python) for automation and tool integration.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.

We Value

  • Experience with REST APIs and plugin or extension development for engineering tools.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and end-to-end CI/CD lifecycle.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of GitHub (optionally GitHub Actions) and GitHub Copilot or other AI code assistants.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms and modern deployment strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
