Join our forward-thinking team as a Lead DevOps Engineer to lead the deployment of innovative cloud solutions using the HashiCorp suite of tools and secure products for enterprise clients. With a strong foundation in systems and network engineering, you'll ensure the development of robust, scalable, and secure infrastructures using modern technologies such as Consul, Nomad, Packer, Terraform, and Vault.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead DevOps initiatives by designing, building, and maintaining infrastructure leveraging HashiCorp tools like Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Vault for secrets management, Consul for service discovery, Nomad for workload orchestration, and Packer for image building.
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines, focusing on automation, infrastructure stability, and rapid delivery. Utilize systems engineering best practices to maintain uptime and reliability.
  • Apply deep systems and network engineering knowledge to manage and optimize infrastructure performance. This includes monitoring network configurations, automating server management, and addressing system bottlenecks.
  • Implement system hardening and configuration management for enhanced security, leveraging tools like Ansible to streamline configurations.
  • Ensure the integration of security best practices into DevOps workflows, focusing on secret management and infrastructure as code using HashiCorp Vault and Terraform.
  • Collaborate with platform engineering and development teams to ensure smooth communication and alignment of infrastructure and application delivery.
  • Drive the adoption of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) to support high-availability, distributed cloud architectures, ensuring infrastructure resilience and scalability.
  • Mentor team members and promote professional development, ensuring they grow in systems engineering, network management, and the DevOps space.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of DevOps experience, with 5+ years building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for large-scale production environments.
  • 2+ years leading a team of DevOps engineers, ensuring successful project delivery and team collaboration.
  • Strong foundation in systems and network engineering:
    • Example: Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS management, and load balancing strategies, with experience optimizing network performance in distributed systems.
    • Example: Experience with monitoring tools to assess system health and performance metrics.
  • Deep expertise with the HashiCorp suite, specifically:
    • Terraform for IaC, creating reusable and modular infrastructure code.
    • Vault for managing secrets, encryption keys, and tokens securely.
    • Nomad for orchestration of workloads and containers across environments.
    • Consul for service discovery, health monitoring, and network segmentation.
    • Packer for creating machine images across multiple platforms.
  • Proficient in AWS and GCP with knowledge of each platform's advantages and ability to tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Linux expertise for managing and automating infrastructure.
  • Skilled in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell for automation and configuration tasks.
  • Experience managing relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra), particularly in distributed cloud environments.

Qualities:

  • Innovative mindset focused on driving excellence in automation, infrastructure scaling, and security.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and alignment on project goals and strategies.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with a focus on solving complex infrastructure problems using both systems and network engineering knowledge and DevOps best practices.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, creating a culture of feedback, learning, and excellence in engineering standards.
