The Application DevOps Lead will serve as the DevOps and software development operations lead, overseeing application support in production, deployment processes, production infrastructure and pipelines, and ensuring the seamless integration of development and operational workflows. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of the applications in production while driving efficiencies in deployment pipelines. The Application Operations and DevOps Lead will collaborate with software engineering, IT security, operations, our JV market technical teams, and many other cross-functional teams to manage application life cycles, resolve technical challenges, and facilitate the continuous delivery of high-quality software.

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field required (or equivalent experience)

Work Experience    

•    2+ years of experience in a lead DevOps, application operations, or related technical lead role.
•    6+ years of experience in DevOps, application operations, or related hands-on technical role.
•    Excellent communication skills to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
•    Demonstrated success in leading large-scale operational projects, such as implementing new partner integrations.
•    Proven experience leading software development operations and managing application support in production environments.
•    Strong experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
•    Demonstrated ability to manage cloud infrastructure (e.g., Azure, AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
•    Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting application performance issues in production environments.
•    Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
•    Strong understanding of application security, compliance, and performance optimization in production environments.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required  

 •    In-depth understanding of DevOps practices and tools to automate and improve application deployment processes.
•    Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate operational tasks.
•    Strong knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration platforms (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
•    Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production environments.
•    Experience managing and building on call rotations and managing continuous production support for off hours coverage.
•    Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.
•    Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
•    Familiarity with Agile software development practices and their integration into production application support and DevOps workflows.
•    Experience with microservices architecture and deployment strategies.
•    Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, DataDog).
•    Familiarity with cloud-native application patterns and serverless technologies.
•    Experience with security best practices in DevOps, including vulnerability scanning and patching in production environments.
•    Exposure to ITIL or IT service management frameworks.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred    •    Experience with microservices architecture and deployment strategies.
•    Experience leading application operations and DevOps functions within an urgent care setting. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•    Lead the application operations and support functions, ensuring high availability, performance, and stability of applications in production.
•    Support new market and center implementations by configuring systems, validating functionality, and assisting with go-live activities.
•    Assist in EMR integration projects, ensuring seamless data exchange and system compatibility.
•    Coordinate releases, deployments, and updates across production environments to ensure smooth application functionality.
•    Oversee the deployment pipeline, ensuring that releases are automated, efficient, and occur with minimal downtime or disruption.
•    Collaborate with development teams to design and implement scalable and efficient application architectures for production environments.
•    Manage cloud infrastructure, optimizing costs and ensuring compliance with security and operational best practices.
•    Automate operational workflows to minimize manual processes, ensuring a streamlined and efficient approach to deployment and application support.
•    Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
•    Monitor application performance, using metrics and logs to anticipate issues and proactively resolve potential bottlenecks or failures.
•    Ensure that all application deployments are properly versioned, documented, and aligned with organizational compliance and security standards.
•    Lead the documentation and management of production systems, including process documentation, configuration guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
•    Provide leadership and mentoring to team members, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
•    Maintain and improve application monitoring and alerting to ensure quick detection and resolution of issues.
•    Lead new market go-lives and new center openings, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
•    Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges related to EMR integration, Kubernetes upgrades, and database performance.
•    Collaborate with the training team to ensure they understand application features and troubleshooting processes.
•    Monitor ticket management systems, ensuring that support tickets are logged, tracked, and resolved efficiently, meeting SLAs and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
•    Coordinate with team members to rotate on-call shifts and ensure proper coverage during off-hours, holidays, and weekends.
•    Ensure timely escalation of unresolved issues to senior team members or external vendors to prevent prolonged downtime or service degradation.
