Job Summary
    
The DevOps Engineer position serves within Information Technology Services (ITS) and reports to the Director of Enterprise Architecture.  This position provides support for cloud infrastructure services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of cloud services (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, etc)
  • Knowledge of database management including patching and upgrading, backup and recovery, and performance optimization
  • Knowledge of and experience with API client and testing tools such as Postman or Bruno
  • Knowledge of and experience with version control (preferably GIT)
  • Knowledge of and experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
  • Knowledge of and experience with software configuration management tools such as Puppet
  • Proficiency in shell scripting of moderate complexity
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting of moderate complexity
  • Self-driven, inquisitive, and productive troubleshooting abilities 
  • Strong ability to work individually and in a team environment 
  • Demonstrated success in taking initiative, meeting deadlines, and adjusting to operational shifts

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience
  • Experience with system administration on UNIX/Linux-based operating systems
  • Experience with API clients and testing tools, such as Postman or Brunos
  • Experience with GIT version control

Preferred Qualifications

  • A master's degree 
  • Three (3) or more years of relevant experience 
  • Experience working in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments
  • Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud
  • Experience with managing Oracle Fusion Cloud environments (specifically HCM and ERP)
  • Experience with managing Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM, formerly Hyperion)
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner products 
  • Demonstrated success in taking initiative, meeting deadlines, and adjusting to operational shifts

Physical Demands 

  • Sitting for extended periods (e.g., at a computer or workstation)
  • Repetitive wrist or arm movements
  • Remaining in one position for extended periods 
  • Lifting objects up to 25 lbs.
