Devops/SRE for BI team

Responsibilities

You’re our perfect candidate if you: 

- AWS or Google Cloud Expertise:
Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure for Qlik Sense and Pentaho deployments.
Ensure compliance with AWS security best practices and governance policies.
Monitor AWS resource usage and implement cost optimization strategies.

- Automation: experience administrating Jenkins and scripting with PowerShell, Bash, etc.

- Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Monitor CPU and RAM usage to identify performance bottlenecks.
Troubleshoot issues related to system slowdowns or crashes.
Implement monitoring tools to track system performance and alert thresholds.

- Monitor and optimize relational database connections (MySQL and/or PostgreSQL), ensuring performance, reliability, and efficient query execution.

- Environment Setup and Management:
Set up and manage environments for Qlik Sense and Pentaho deployments.
Ensure environments are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.

- Qlik Sense Administration: Manage and maintain access to the Qlik Sense Management Console.Configure and optimize Qlik Sense environments for performance and scalability.
Troubleshoot issues related to Qlik Sense applications and servers.
Define best practices and governance for Qlik Sense deployments.
Experience with Sense Monitoring Dashboard and performance tuning.

- Pentaho Configuration and Management:
Configure data connections and manage the Pentaho Server.
Set up BA (Business Analytics) and PDI (Pentaho Data Integration) design tools.
Ensure seamless integration of Pentaho with other BI tools.

- Data Lake Management also is a plus:
Design, implement, and manage Data Lakes using Google cloud services.
Ensure data quality, security, and compliance within the Data Lake.
Collaborate with data engineers to integrate Data Lake with BI tools.

- Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with development teams to ensure smooth integration of tools.
Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Participate in design reviews to ensure conformance to design standards.

• At least 5 years of experience in system administration or a related field.
• Strong understanding of AWS or GCP services and infrastructure management.
• Knowledge of system performance monitoring tools (AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, Senty, Prometheus, etc).
• Proven track record of managing complex environments and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Iac tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc) and git is desiderable.
• Experience with shell scripting and automation tools.
• Experience with Data Lake technologies, particularly Google Cloud solutions is a plus.
• Experience administrating N8N also is a plus
• Experience with BI tools (Qlik Sense, Pentaho, KNIME, etc) is a plus.
• Familiarity with data governance and data quality practices.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
