Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking an experienced Development Operations (DevOps) Manager who will directly oversee the implementation, deployment, and integration of solutions by the DevOps team. The DevOps Manager will plan hardware deployments, software releases and Information Assurance activities of the team.

 

The position will require the potential partner to work on-site in Waterford, CT and may require some travel in support of the project.

What you will be doing:

The DevOps Manager will work to optimize our company's software and streamline the process of creating and releasing updates.

  • The DevOps Manager will have a variety of responsibilities, including:
    • Establishment and control of schedules and budgets
    • Resource planning and tracking
    • Production of contractual deliverables
    • Coordination of multi-office resources
    • Managing experienced software development professionals
  • The DevOps Manager will manage the collective DevOps team who are responsible for:
    • Release engineering: Building and deploying application code
    • Infrastructure management: Deploying and maintaining servers, storage, and networking resources
    • System administration: Creating accounts, updating permissions, and backing up systems
    • Overseeing code releases: Working with software project leads, and other internal teams to coordinate activities
    • Information Assurance: establishing the posture of hardware and software deployments to maintain the authority to operate (ATO)
    • Educating the organization: Teaching the organization about DevOps practices
    • Cloud services: Working with cloud platforms to deploy and manage applications

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of professional experience managing DevOps personnel/processes
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance*

Desired, but not required, qualifications:

  • Possessing an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance*
  • Project management in the DoD environment
  • Previous experience managing DevOps organizations
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Familiar with Information Assurance, Risk Management Framework and security controls
  • Familiar with hardware specifications and hardware deployment needs
  • Familiar with emerging trends of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and DevSecOps methodologies
  • Familiar with Agile / Scrum methodologies
