DevOps Engineer - Linux PaaS

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• Design, administer, optimize, and secure Red Hat Enterprise Linux v6.x/7.x/8.x
• Design and implement automated deployment and configuration tools for RHEL PaaS
• Use of Red Hat Satellite in support of deployment, management and auditing of the PaaS infrastructure
• Design and develop an architecture of PaaS infrastructure based on Docker and Kubernetes
• Design and develop an architecture of PaaS infrastructure in a hybrid Cloud environment
• Deploy a Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions based on open source software and industry best practices
• Automate Docker application builds using industry standard tools such as Jenkins
• Automate the creation of Platform as a Service (PaaS) infrastructure using industry standard tools such as Ansible
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems and issues within the Platform as a Service infrastructure

NON-TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be willing to work on-site full time.
• Must be willing and able to go onsite when requested
• Ability to pass a 7 year background check and to obtain a US Public Trust clearance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
• 7 years of experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux v6.x/7.x/8.x installation, configuration, server patching and upgrading
• 7 years of experience Administer/Optimize/Secure Red Hat Enterprise Linux v6.x/7.x/8.x
• 5 years of experience working with Ansible Playbooks and Ansible Tower
• 5 years of experience architecting PaaS infrastructure based on Docker and Kubernetes
• 5 years of experience managing image repositories in support of Docker Containers
• 3 years of experience with OpenShift Container Platform
• Hands-on experience working with AWS Elastic Container Service and Elastic Kubernetes
• Expertise in the Linux command-line environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Hands-on skills in creating custom Docker Containers and managing image repositories
• Deployment of PaaS solutions based on open-source software and industry best practices
• Automation of Docker application builds using industry standard tools
• Automating PaaS infrastructure creation using industry standard tools such as Ansible Automation and Red Hat CloudForms
• Troubleshooting and resolving PaaS infrastructure problems and issues

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Architecture of Platform as a Service (PaaS) infrastructure with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of PaaS infrastructure architecture in a hybrid Cloud environment
• Deploying OpenShift in both public and private cloud
• Automation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and PaaS infrastructure creation using Ansible, Ansible Tower and other automation technologies
• Prior Federal government experience
• Being a self-starter and highly motivated individual who seeks opportunities to contribute in a dynamic work environment
• Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities
