How You’ll Contribute:
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our development and production environments. This role involves leading automation and streamlining efforts, building and maintaining tools for deployment and monitoring, and collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. You will work closely with software developers, system operators, and IT staff to integrate and deploy new features while maintaining security and reliability. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about innovation in technology and bring expertise in automation, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD practices to the team.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead automation and process optimization efforts to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bamboo, Bitbucket Pipelines, or Azure DevOps.
- Design and implement solutions that bridge the gap between Infrastructure and Development teams, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, testing, and production environments, ensuring minimal impact on operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align DevOps strategy with organizational goals.
- Establish and maintain monitoring solutions for applications and infrastructure to ensure system reliability.
- Document configuration changes, release processes, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and facilitate secure code releases.
What You’ll Bring:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience, or
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience.
Experience:
- Proficiency in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and containerization.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, Bitbucket Pipelines, Azure DevOps, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
- Strong scripting and programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expertise in cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure, including Azure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovative solutions.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across diverse teams.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment that values diverse perspectives.
Certifications (preferred):
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
- Kubernetes Certification (e.g., CKAD, CKA, CKS)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs occasionally.
- Frequent use of hands for fine manipulation and computer work.
- Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear throughout the workday.
Where You’ll Work:
- West Des Moines, Iowa
- Office Location: Mostly Off-Site
- Expected Travel: Travel not likely/required.
- Given that the Company’s systems must be supported twenty-four hours a day, this position has on-call responsibilities, including work being performed outside of normal business hours.
